Sunshine Brewery an award-winning brewery produces a range of handcrafted beers, including the popular Gisborne Gold ale, as well as a range of seasonal and limited-edition brews. Their beers are brewed using traditional techniques and locally sourced ingredients.
The Gisborne wine region is relatively small, with around 2000 hectares of vineyards. The region has a mild maritime climate, with warm summers and cool winters, which is ideal for growing grapes. The soils in the region are mostly alluvial, which are fertile and well-draining. Gisborne’s wine region is also known as the “Chardonnay Capital of New Zealand” due to the quality of its Chardonnay grapes.
