Cycle Gisborne is committed to sustainable tourism. We want to make sure we are here for the next 10 years, and that we leave the world a better place for our future.
Here’s some of the ways we are making a difference:-
- No single use plastic
- $1 per electric bike hire into our carbon fund
- $1 per person we transfer towards our carbon fund
- We invite all our multiday and shuttle clients to opt-in for a $5 carbon offset for their trip
What do we do with all the funds we collect?
We purchase native plants and a couple of times a year we plant these on our local trails, or share them with our tourism partners to enhance the wellbeing of our local trails and rivers. We hope our local trails and rivers will be a haven for walkers, cyclists and of course our native tui, korimako, kererū, pīwakawaka and kārearea that live in and around our city.
Together we want to create a truly sustainable tourism industry that makes a positive and enduring contribution to Aotearoa New Zealand.
